The Art of Tie-Dying

HELLO PEEPS, MY NAME IS SAANIKA, AND THIS IS MY BLOG.

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF:

I AM A LEVEL 2 GYMNAST , AN ARTIST , AND A DRAMA QUEEN. I LOVE TO CREATE CRAFTS, PAINT, AND COOK.

ANYWAY, TODAY I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO TIE-DYE.

  • FIRST, YOU’LL GATHER  ALL YOUR  MATERIALS. YOU WILL NEED : TIE-DYE (FIND SOME AT YOUR CRAFT STORE, I USE TULIPS BRAND), SOME RUBBER  BANDS, GLOVES, AND A COTTON WHITE T-SHIRT ( USE EITHER  SODA ASH OR WATER TO DAMPEN T-SHIRT)

  • AFTER YOU DAMPEN YOUR T-SHIRT, PLACE IT ON A TRASH BAG OR  AN OLD BLANKET. TAKE YOUR RUBBER BANDS AND  PLACE THEM ON THE T-SHIRT ACCORDING TO WHICH DESIGN YOU WANT TO DO.

  • IF YOU ARE DOING THE EASIEST  DESIGN ( THE SPIRAL), TWIST  YOUR T-SHIRT  INTO THE SHAPE OF A CINNAMON BUN. THEN PLACE YOUR BANDS LIKE A CRISS CROSS. TAKE YOUR DYE AND PLACE IT ON  THE T-SHIRT. REPEAT ON BOTH SIDES AND KEEP IT IN A PLASTIC BAG FOR  HOWEVER  MANY  HOURS IT SAYS ON YOUR PACKAGE. AFTER  THE DYE SOAKS IN, TAKE OUT THE BANDS AND WASH IT  WITH WATER UNTIL THE WATER RUNS CLEAR. LET IT DRY AND THEN (THE EASIEST PART) LOVE YOUR  MASTERPIECE.
